Financial Literacy Poster Contest

Every year there is a poster contest sponsored by the State Treasurer’s Office. There is one elementary, middle, and high school winner. This year, with over 150 entries, Brittany Hoyt (Meeting House, 8th grader) has won First Place in the middle school division for the State of Vermont. Rachel Healey (Voyager, 8th grader) and Antony Wathugi (Meeting House, 7th grader) were also honored as finalists. On April 9th, there was a State House ceremony in Montpelier as part of an observance of April as Youth Financial Literacy Month. Treasurer Jeb Spaulding and Governor Jim Douglass was there to present Brittany Hoyt with her $100 savings bond (Brittany also won $100 cash prize for Williston Central School!). Brittany’s poster will now be entered into the national poster contest and will have a chance to win additional cash prizes. Congratulations Brittany!
